Darwin Exhibition London

The Darwin exhibition London event at Natural History Museum is set to be a fantastic celebration of the man who changed the world with his theory of evolution. Providing a fascinating insight into his early workings and the very start of his theories, the Darwin exhibition also gives you the chance to explore the life of Charles Darwin the man, as well as the scientist. Family photos and letters depict Darwin as a family man, husband and father to ten children. Here you can gain access to the lifestyle of the Darwin family, and see what important influences his famliy and friends in the scienfitic community had on him and his theory of evolution.

Modern advances
Coinciding with the Darwin exhibition at Natural History Museum, another exhibition takes place at the museum which looks at the nature of modern evolutionary biology. Exploring the ways in which Darwin's theories are still very much relevant today, this part of the exhibition looks at the importance of understanding how infectious disease causing organisms keep changing as scientists and the medical world attempt to control their spread.

Happy birthday Darwin
Thursday 12th February 2009 is Charles Darwin's 200th birthday, and to celebrate the Natural History Museum is laying on a day of special talks, activities and events. There'll be birthday cake in the Marine Invertebrates Gallery at 12.30pm, exclusive film screenings, a Charles Darwin actor in the Central Hall, and the restaurants will be serving Emma Darwin's famed Pea Soup for hungry diners.
