The Body Worlds London exhibition is due to bring just as many visitors and tourists to the O2 Arena from autumn 2008 as the previous show, Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of Pharohs. With exhibits from the groundbreaking anatomist Dr Gunther von Hagens, the Body Worlds London show is set to be an amazing exhibition of truly fascinating works.

The art and science of plastination
Using his world renowned technique of plastination to preserve human and animal bodies, the Body Worlds London exhibition is yet another astonishing show of the wonder of nature. Following on from Bodies the Exhibition, which was exhibited at Earls Court in 2006, Body Worlds and the Mirror of Time continues the scientists examination of the human condition, post death.

UK premiere
Making its premiere in the capital before moving onto other sites around the UK, Body Worlds London will no doubt cause as much interest and possibly as much controversy as Dr Gunther von Hagens previous exhibition. The exhibits on show at the O2 have been created by taking thin slices, sections of the body and organs, and coating them with an air tight seal of plastic that preserves them perfectly for scientific scrutiny.

Celebration of anatomy
Sound a little gruesome? Fear not - this is the only anatomical exhibition around that has an established organ donor programme, with the contributors knowing exactly where their bits and pieces will go on show. Far from being a voyeuristic freak show, the Body Worlds London exhibition is a celebration of the marvels of the human and animal body, and Dr Gunther even hopes that it will inspire people to live life to the full.

Cradle to grave
Focusing on life from conception through to death, Body Worlds and the Mirror of Time looks at exactly how our bodies age and the effects that longevity have upon us. With disease, distress and accident all taking their toll on our physical form, the exhibition examines how and why the body reacts as it does to age.
